SPECIALIZED TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): Behavioral Tech, Seattle Washington (1)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a cognitive behavioral treatment developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD, ABPP. It emphasizes individual psychotherapy and group skills training classes to help people learn and use new skills and strategies to develop a life that they experience as worth living. DBT skills include skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy: EMDR Institute (2)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence based therapeutic protocol developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro. EMDR enables people to heal from the symptoms of trauma and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal.  EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION

I am collaborative in my approach to supervision. I am also didactic. I practice evidence based therapy and I mentor, consult and supervise from this perspective. I also come to this work with a deep sense of gratitude and responsibility. As I work with new therapists, I understand that in this work we can grow and sustain as clinicians, and we can also deplete ourselves and burn out far too soon. I deeply desire to see new therapists grow and deepen their work in a way that is sustainable and rewarding. I especially enjoy working with new therapists that are building their own business in private practice.

Now providing supervision via Zoom.
Clinical Supervision fee $185.00 per clock hour

PARENT FOCUSED THERAPY

Parent focused therapy provides a non-judgmental and supportive place to address the issues of parenting. Parenting is one of the most important, challenging and creative processes that most of us will endeavor over our lifetime.  While most of us understand the importance of this work, we so often step in without proper training.  Our children come into the world with their unique genetic inheritance.  Gaining an understanding of the differences in our children, allows us to learn relevant new skills, and utilize these strategies to reinforce, validate and increase the frequency of effective behavior, while deepening the connection of the parent-child bond and strengthening the health of our family system.

PACKAGES AND FEES

My fee for a 75 minute intake assessment or extended session is $275. My Fee for a 50 minute session is $185.

Fees are to be paid at the beginning of the session unless discussed otherwise.  I accept payment by debit or credit card, which are securely stored on the Simple Practice electronic health records portal.

I am a private pay provider.  As private pay, I am considered an Out-of-Network provider by most insurance companies. Out-of-Network coverage is not guaranteed.  I am happy to provide you with a statement of services that you can submit to your insurance company when seeking insurance reimbursement.  It is your responsibility to assess your coverage and keep your account current.   Good Faith Estimate of your costs is available at scheduling or by request.

Group Therapy Services

DBT Skills Group

Problematic behaviors evolve as a way to cope with difficult situations or as a way to solve a problem. While these behaviors might provide temporary relief or a short-term solution, they often are not effective in the long-term. DBT assumes that clients are doing the best they can, AND they need to learn new behaviors in all relevant contexts. DBT helps enhance a client’s capabilities by teaching behavioral skills in areas like mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills help people manage specific challenges and develop effective ways to navigate situations that arise in everyday life.

Parent Skills Group

We are very excited to announce coming in Spring of 2022 (Dates TBD) –  A 12 Week Virtual Parent Coaching Skills Group.  We will accept participants from Washington, Arizona and Wisconsin.  Facilitators are DBT-LBC certified and will be working through a behavioral lens, utilizing DBT principles, in guiding parents in setting value-based goals.  Parents will acquire skills, practice skills and generalize skills to gain greater alignment with their family values.
